Yay!  I'm happy to say that I'm going to the football game tonight.  My wonderful Billy, got some nice tickets!  I've never been so excited to go to a NFL game as now.  Of course, Billy is all for the Packers and I'm a Broncos Fan.  So I know that the Broncos will totally cruch the Packers....yay!

I will definitely have some pictures up soon!

I went back to work on Sunday and I've again changed my mind about working.  Thankfully the asst. manager said that they could let me work on Sundays, so that makes me really happy.  I love my job and I love my customers.  I just was feeling a little overwhelmed with things going on with my life.  Plus, I wanted to get a little more involved in church.  Which I still can even with me working on Sundays.  So all is better, I didn't know what I was going to do with all the extra time but now it will be a happy compromise.  See ya!

PS. I am rebelling against the boot and am going without it...lol!

    What's with the boot?

So surgery went well and the 1st post-op visit is done.  Now to my dismay, I may be in this stupid boot for longer than 4 weeks.  Apparently my cyst was attached or embedded into a tendon and had to be sliced open and removed.  So my tendoin nedds extra heeling time.  Naturally, I'm not listening to the doctor.  Even though I know that is terrible to do.  But i hate this big, ugly, not to mention heavy boot.  It has already started hurting the side of leg by my knee.  It's rubbed a small raw spot and now I have to cinch the boot super tight so that there's no more friction.  Then there's stairs.  This thing (boot) does not bend like your leg does when heading down the stairs.  Of course, one of your legs don't weigh like 10 extra pounds, so walking up stairs in annoying too!  Then the stares, from people of course, like i'm some circus freak.  Either they look at it and then away like I'm not to  be noticed.  It's a soft cast boot.  It makes me think of how people with real disibilities must feel like.  So maybe this is humbling.  That is exactly the way I'll start to look at it.  So sorry to complain so much, I guess I didn't know how irritated I was with the whole thing till i put it into words...lol!

Over the weekend we had a snowstorm.  Only 7", but during this time it's about average I suppose.  I don't remember, I never remember how the weather was the year before.  It was nice to get out and have the girls have a little snow fun.  But it was cold and it didn't make the greatest kind of sledding snow.  Annarae tried to make a snow angel and Johnna and I threw some snowballs at each other.  But I couldn't get into the snow that much because I still have to make sure my foot doesn't get wet.

Here's some pictures of the girls having fun with all the presents that Johnna got at her party.

I finally did resolve the party problem for Annie.  We finally decided to have it at the jumping/bouncy place.  She is super-excited.  Weighing in the cost and work that it would entail if we just gave her a party at home was pretty much the same if we were going to do it somewhere else.  Except that it cut out the whole work part for us.  That is pretty much what sealed the deal.  Also all the kids love bouncy play places and Annarae wants to invite like 45 kids.  I don't know about that, but we are trying to figure out a happy medium.

Today was rough.  The girls just were not happy shoppers when I needed to run errands.  But it's because they are spoiled and the only person I have to blame for this problem is ME.  They were crying and acting up at the store that we finally left.  Half my shopping still not complete, but I couldn't take it anymore.  I laughed all the way out of the store.  Annarae got even more mad, because she thought I was laughing at her.  I told her either laugh or get really mad.  And you want me to laugh because then I will start the punishments.  She got it but that didn't stop her from being upset.  All went back to normal the minute we had to head to RE.  I was happy that the night was almost over.  And now this brings me to here.  Hope you have a good night and thanks for all the thoughts I've received about my foot!

To soy or not to soy

Poor Billy has become my 2nd victim of soy milk.  Well actually he really hasn't, he's resisting.  I love the stuff.  I really like this new flavor by Silk.  It's called Pumpkin Spice Soy Milk.  Well anyway, we've been out of milk for a couple of days and all that is in the fridge is vanilla and chocolate soy milk.  I don't know why he's resisting so much.  It's healthy and when you don't drink milk and all you do is add it to cereal, there's no reason not to use it.  Tomorrow I'll probably cave in and get some regular milk.  Annarae is a big fan of the chocolate and Johnna is really not into that much.  But she loves milk.  So I have to make sure we have some in the house for her for sure.  Milk makes my stomach hurt, so whenever I go to starbucks, I've always had them put soy into my coffee.  Then one day I thought why don't I use it at home too.  Then when I started drinking the stuff, I thought WOW, I love soy!  Anyway, I guess to each his own, right.

    Paging Jennifer to the OR

There was a mix-up at the hospital.  I guess the dr.'s office could not get a hold of me and so they cancelled the surgery.  Well of course I didn't know that.  We got everything straightened out.  I totally love my podiatrist.  Her name is Dr. Oberholtzer (I think that's the right spelling).  Anyway, she came back to the hospital and we all got the thing going around 12:30.

Annarae is pointing at the cyst...It is really small.  But I swear it did hurt and was really getting on my nerves..literaly!  LOL

I was put to sleep.  I thought "wow" they are serious about this thing.  I thought that I was just going to get some localized numbing meds, but they gave me something thru my IV, I don't remember anything from 12:29 till 2 pm.  So I had a very nice nap.  The anastealogist (???) was a little abrasive, but oh well, I didn't see him that long.  The nurses were great, well the ones before surgery.  One did of course blow a vein, but that seems to always happen.  I have the worst veins.  She tried on the other hand and it was a success.  But because of the size of the IV needle (child size) being so small everything that they put into my veins stung so bad.  Of course, the meds kicked in and apparently I didn't care anymore.  I wish I could have heard what I talked about, if I even talked at all.  Billy came to pick me up and took me home.  Now I have to be off my feet, or have the one elevated for 72 hours.  So I guess I'll get served on all this time.  No not really.  When you have kids, they really don't get that you should be resting and with Billy having to go back to work tomorrow, I assume I'll be up and around for most of the day.  Which is probably why the doc gave me so many painkillers.  They definitly will come to some good use!  They have already...lol!

Here I am post-op and with the medication still in effect!  I'm way more photogenic when I'm all doped up. Just teasing...lol.

    What's in a Day?

Today was just so crazy.  I babysat my little cousin Dillon.  He is the sweetest little guy.  We were looking at pictures on the computer and he started saying that Billy was his dad and that Annarae and Johnna were his sisters.  It was so adorable.

It was Annarae's birthday today and I feel kinda bad because we didn't get to do all the things that I had planned.  I was waiting half the day for some carpet people (long story short, had a leak and made sure to treat it with anti-mold mildew stuff so that gross stuff would not grow) to come and treat the carpet.  Johnna had gymnastics today and then I was trying to plan Annie's party at a jumping palace place.  The party planning was a disaster, 1st off they didn't take checks (which is all I brought), 2nd the date I was going to reserve had limited availability and 3rd, I forgot that I had a retreat I was going to that day also.  So now we have to figure out a new plan for Annie's party.  Thankfully she understands that we won't be doing it til' November and probably not at that jumping place.  Annarae wanted to go bowling today with Billy.  His schedule was hectic today so he wouldn't have been able to do it till the evening.  But we had spanish choir to go to and I didn't want to let Hispanic Ministry down.

I've been trying to become more active in the spanish ministry, but my schedule never seems to clear up for the meetings.  I've been able to help host the coffee/donuts at the church for them, but I really wanted to get into the choir.  The girls love to sing and they definitly need to learn spanish.  So I thought what a great idea to get it both at one time.

Anyway, we did end up going to the movies.  Annie loves to see movies.  We saw "Game Plan".  It was a pretty cute film.  Of course, the Rock was in it, so it couldn't be that bad right.  lol!

We finally got the cake from Safeway (grocery store).  We went to Target first, but they didn't have the cake writer there.  I told them to just give me a % off the cake but they would rather lose a $30 sale than give me less than $2 off a cake.  Silly right?!  It doesn't matter because I was happy to have the cake written on and the cakes from Safeway are pretty good.  We took some cupcakes to choir practice so we could share with the kids there and that was fun.  That's where to the 2 videos come from.

Tomorrow is the day of my foot surgery.  I'm totally dreading it.  Really, I just am worrying about the superficial scar I'll have on my foot.  Also I'll be in soft cast for about 4 weeks, which I hate those things.  Then on Friday I turn 29!!!  I'm excited about that, but I guess i'll just be doped up on painkillers for that...lol!

Annarae is just great at helping around the house and becoming such a responsible young lady.  It's so surprising how time just gets away from you.  Everyday I hold Annarae and Johnna and think one of these days they won't want to be held or get in my lap and have their head kissed.  I miss those days when I could cuddle with my mom.  I hope it won't be for a long time that they won't want to be all cuddly with me!  Okay now i better go and cry myself to sleep.  Just kidding!  Well wish me luck and think of me and my foot tomorrow and hope for the best!  I guess Billy is right when he says I'm dramatic!!! LOL!!!

    Annarae's Day

    Happy Birthday Sweetie-Pie Angel!

    October 14

    Birthday Wishes and Cheeseburger Dreams

McDonald's was a great place to have the party and the kids just loved it.  The party helper, Christine, was really sweet.  Surprising enough, nobody had ever offered her a piece of cake.  We did and she was so happy that she gave me a hug.  It made me feel good and kinda sad that not a single person had thought to offer a small piece of cake to this girl that helped them thoughout their child's party.  I don't want to judge..but gosh how much we forget of others that serve us.

Anyway, not to ruin a good time, here is 2 shots of the party.  The girls had fun and Johnna got great gifts and I'm happy that we did have the party.  My great-aunt is in the background of the 1st picture.  She is so sweet and cute!  In the 2nd pic, is Annarae and one of her friends from school last year.  Johnna had tons of fun if I didn't mention it already.  Yay, I did something good! lol!

The cake was super yummy and so was the ice cream.  October is a busy month in the Serrano home.  Nothing but cake and ice cream for like 3 weeks straight.  I'm not complaining though.

    Fun at the Monkey Bar

Here's Johnna at the Pumpkin Fest at Annarae's School!

    I think i'm in love!

So this is what I want.  I went to the Apple store at the mall this past week and saw the new Ipod Nano.  Totally fell in love with it.  Actually silly enough, I think this would be a great Christmas gift for the girls.  Then I could use it when they aren't.  They are okay priced.  But you can do so much...music, games even watch TV shows and movies.  So that's why it's not that bad for the price and it is pretty cute and comes in some cool colors.  Well that's enough of that...lol!

Okay so my absence is all my fault.  Hopefully i will have everything worked out tomorrow.  On Saturday we are celebrating Johnna's B-day at McDonald's.  But I've missed being online so much!  Billy was out of town and his computer went with him.  I actually thought that was a little selfish on his part...lol!  But I guess his work is important too.  Just teasing, anyway i'll be back tomorrow...I hope!

    Been Busy

Oh my gosh, I've been somewhat busy, but also my computer is giving me problems.  I'm on Billy's right now and so it's been forever since I've blogged.  Things are going well.  I put in my notice to stop working at the beginning of November.  It's been a long time coming and of course I will add more in the future when I'm on my own computer.

We've been to the fall festival or pumpkin day at Annie's school.  She had fun at a party too.  Anyway, the girls are living life and since Billy's leg is so much better he's been living too...lol!

    Have a good weekend!!!
